The latest from East Vocal Music:

PURPOSE
Your participation in the Vocal Music Program is appreciated. For those who have been a part of this program before, you know that it requires discipline, hard work and dedication. We also make it a point to enjoy ourselves! Your grade in this class depends on your attendance in class and concerts as well as your participation and attitude.

We will be singing many styles of music but the foundation of what we do is based on classical literature. The literature will be selected with the goal of learning and appreciation in mind. Also included in the curriculum are interval studies, sight-singing and theory.

The expectations for classroom behavior DO include the following:

Doing homework from another class during rehearsals

CONCERT CONDUCT
Concerts are the way we demonstrate what we have learned through the semesters. It is critical that every student attend and participate in concerts. Failure to attend or participate in concerts will negatively impact grades.
During our concerts, both the students who are performing and their guest, should:
Remain quiet and give their attention to all groups.
Remain for the entire concert and only leave the performance for emergencies.
Turn off all cell phones and pagers during performance to avoid unnecessary distractions.
